The Fort Benning School Board is an elected advisory group consisting of at least one board member from each of the Fort Benning schools. As part of the school board, the members have an opportunity to actively participate in the process of educating our children by bringing information directly in front of the Community Superintendent and the Garrison leadership.
However, unlike the school boards in the Local Education Authority (LEA), DoDEA school boards act purely in an advisory capacity, providing input to the Community Superintendent and administrators in the areas of fiscal, personnel and educational policies, procedures and programs. The Community Superintendent makes final decisions on matters affecting the school district.
