Message from Admin

We have had another amazing week of learning, here at E.A. White Elementary!  Our Lions have been busy diving into engaging lessons, building friendships, and exploring new ideas. From classrooms filled with curiosity to hallways roaring with excitement, learning was truly alive this week!

A special highlight was the hosting of our first Parent University for this school year which focused on back-to-school awareness and the many resources available to support our students and families.  Thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us in person and online – your partnership makes a world of difference!  We’re already looking forward to our next session on November 4, where we’ll explore Building Critical Thinkers in Reading and Math. Mark your calendars!

Looking ahead to next week, we have some exiting events taking place!

Book Fair, sponsored by our PTO – All week long! Students will have the opportunity to explore a wide selection of books and ignite their love for reading.

Family Night at the Book Fair – Join us on Thursday, September 18, from 4:00-6:00 PM for an evening of stories, shopping, and fun!

U.S. Constitution Day Celebration – On Wednesday, September 17, all our Lions will celebrate this important historical day by signing our very own school pledge, honoring the values of citizenship and community. The E.A. White Elementary School Pledge will then be proudly displayed for all to see!

Thank you for being an essential part of our school family. We hope you all have a safe and joyful weekend!

In Partnership,
Mrs. Thorne, Principal
Mrs. Enyeart, Assistant Principal

Tip from the Front Office

Show ID

We want to remind everyone that a valid photo ID is required when checking out students from school. This policy helps us ensure that only authorized individuals are picking up children.

Even if you're a familiar face at E.A. White Elementary, please understand that the person working the front desk may not always know you. Staff assignments can change from day to day, and we cannot rely on recognition alone when it comes to student safety. Showing your ID helps us follow proper procedures and protect all students.

Also, please remember that student check-outs end at 2:45 p.m., unless approved by the principal for extenuating circumstances.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure environment.

2024-2025 School Meal Benefits Grace Period Ending Soon!

ICYMI

Families who received free or reduced meals in the 2024–2025 school year must reapply by September 29, 2025 to keep their benefits for 2025–2026.

Many parents think their previous meal status automatically continues. It does, but only during the grace period, which ends on September 29, 2025. After that, families must reapply to keep their free or reduced benefits.

Advisory Committees

The School Advisory Committee (SAC) and Installation Advisory Committee (IAC), composed of parents, teachers, and stakeholders, advise school administrators, Community Superintendents, and Installation Commanders on policies, procedures, and resources to enhance the educational environment. These committees hold open public meetings for parents to engage and learn more about the school.

Serving on a SAC or IAC is a rewarding responsibility that offers the opportunity to contribute to children's education actively. These committees provide advisory input on school policies, administrative procedures, and educational resources. At the same time, final decisions rest with the DoWEA school district superintendent.

To learn more about DoWEA Americas Advisory Committees, please visit the DoWEA Americas Advisory Committees website.

Visitors and Volunteers

For the protection of students and staff, all visitors must report to the school’s front office immediately upon arriving at the school. A visitor is any person (to include parents, sponsors, and legal guardians) not enrolled or assigned to the school requesting entry to the building.

Visitors must provide authorized identification to gain access to the DoWEA school. The visitor will be issued a visitor badge that must be displayed above the waist while on DoWEA school property. The school administrator has the final determination on visitors authorized to be at the school. While on DoWEA school property, visitors may go only to the approved area indicated as their destination when signing in at the school’s front office. Any change to the designated location must be approved by the school’s front office before the visitor can access a different location within the school. When leaving the school, visitors must sign out and return the visitor's badge to the school’s front office.

Classroom Observations

Parents are welcome to visit the school and classrooms to observe the school’s programs for brief periods of time that do not interfere with instruction. Approval by the school administrator is required for this type of visitation.
