E.A. White Elementary Kicks off Parent University for New School Year
On Tuesday, September 9, E.A. White Elementary School in Fort Benning, Georgia, proudly hosted its first Parent University session of the academic year. The event offered an opportunity for parents and guardians to deepen their understanding of the Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and gain valuable resources to assist their children at home.
“It was a great overview for the school year!” shared Ms. Teresa Davila, a parent at E.A. White, reflecting the positive reaction to the session.
Led by Dr. Pamela Williams and a team of dedicated educators, Parent University has been a cornerstone initiative for the past two years. These workshops are a direct response to feedback from the school’s Fall 2023 Community and Engagement Survey, demonstrating the Continuous Improvement Team’s commitment to fostering meaningful family engagement.
Since its launch in October 2023, Parent University has evolved through ongoing input from families, ensuring each session is tailored to meet the unique needs of the school community. Offered at no cost, the workshops span a variety of topics and equip parents with actionable strategies to support their children’s academic and personal growth.
More than a series of workshop series, Parent University represents a shared commitment to strengthening the partnership between home and school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all who contributed to the success of this event: Ms. Ginger Ades, Ms. Dolly Baker, Ms. Kindra Battles, Ms. Bonnie Cyfers, Ms. Synitra Horton, and Ms. Deborah Samuels. Special appreciation also goes to our outstanding administrative team, Principal Ms. Jessica Thorne and Assistant Principal Ms. Martha Enyeart for their leadership and support.
